In July 2023, Nexia International orchestrated a series of esteemed conferences in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, spanning from the 3rd to the 7th. These events encompassed the APAC Regional Conference, the Managers and Future Leaders Programme, and the International Tax Conference, showcasing the global reach and expertise of Nexia.
A highlight of the event was the introduction of Nexia ASV as the newest member firm. Our partner, Kwunjai Kiatgungwalgri, took center stage on the inaugural day, elucidating the potential business prospects in Thailand, as endorsed by the Thailand Board of Investment. This presentation also provided a comprehensive overview of the Thai tax system, underscoring Nexia ASV’s depth of knowledge and positioning in the region.
A pivotal discussion point during the conference revolved around the updated IFRS and ISQM firm-wide resources. Solvita Bleiere, CPHR, the Head of People and Culture at Nexia Perth, delved into the challenges of talent recruitment and retention. She highlighted the ongoing ‘great resignation’ trend post-COVID, noting a 26% attrition rate in 2022. Nexia member firms are now advocating for programs that offer competitive remuneration, career progression, and flexibility, all while upholding the firm’s core values and promoting individual growth. International secondments have also been proposed as a strategy to retain top-tier talent.
